So you want to throw a haunting Halloween party huh? You’ve come to the right place. Here you’ll find great haunting Halloween Party Foods & Decor ideas. I threw a party that would rise the dead for a spooky ol’ time. My family and I love us some Halloween. We decorated all the rooms and had a bunch of odd foods to eat. Check out our pictures for some inspiration on what to do.
In the picture above I served:
- Spider Jello (Just add the spider rings, bat rings and skeleton heads to any flavor jello) Make sure to wash them well before adding.
- Worms in Dirt are hot dogs cut vertically and then boiled (they curled) and placed on Refried Black beans.
- Cant go wrong with Deviled Eggs
- Yummy Eyeballs were carefully placed cut blueberries into grapes. You have to make a hole for them, hard work but worth it.
- The frozen taquitos represented cut fingers.
My Halloween Altar:
- Halloween Tea Light Holders
- Halloween Garland
- Black Roses (Hard to see in pic)
- Skeleton Cross
- Witch, Skeleton and Pumpkin figurines
Add whatever you like to make this special setting a focal point that people will be drawn to.
Cover everything from walls, bookshelves and mirrors with a Halloween background. We covered our two bookshelves with cut open black garbage bags. Then piled on the spider webs around it and plastered it with the Do Not enter of danger tape. Of course you can find all of these supplies just about anywhere from party supply store such as Party City or my top four favorites, Target, Walmart, Walgreens and Dollar Tree.
There are many items we’ve collected and saved over the years but there are always new goodies for the haunt!
You may notice some inspiration came from the ever handy pinterest. We made the infamous body of food. For this below, we found old clothes that the hubster didn’t want anymore. Measure your food holders and cut the appropriate sized holes into the clothes. Important to measure the exact dishes or platters you will use so that the hole isn’t too big or too small. Stuff the body with whatever you can find. Extra clothes, small pillows, etc. Our head was a skeleton head and hands were detachable fake arms We poured fake blood over the body BEFORE placing the food on it.
And what’s Halloween party without some good costumes? Don’t forget to have your friends dress up. We had Frida Kahlo and her husband… Maria from the animated Film, Book of Life, not shown and vampires and pirates. If you don’t want to buy a costume, make one. Remember to have fun, that’s what Halloween is all about.
Decoration and music sets the mood. We played a few haunting songs and then played some Halloween Trivia Games. We played, name that monster (from a movie) and guess which monster I am. Then we played some good dancing music and started to stomp our feet to some beats. Be creative, let loose, ask your friends to bring a dish and you’re pretty much set for a howling event. Hope you find inspiration from my pics.
